Storage

Store in a cool, dry, dark place, ideally in a freezer (stable up to 1 year at –20 °C).

Protect from light, air (oxygen), and heat — these factors degrade nicotine rapidly.

Use only sealed HDPE or amber glass containers with childproof caps.

Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized personnel.

Safety

Handle only in laboratory or industrial environments by trained professionals.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory:

• Nitrile gloves
• Eye protection (goggles or face shield)
• Lab coat or chemical-resistant apron
• Respirator/fume hood if aerosol may form

Avoid skin contact. Even 1–2 drops can be fatal.

First Aid Instructions:

• Skin: Remove contaminated clothing, wash with soap and water for at least 15 minutes.
• Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water, remove contact lenses if possible, and seek medical help.
• Ingestion/Inhalation: Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Call poison control or emergency medical services immediately.

Disposal

Dispose of through licensed hazardous chemical disposal services.

Do not pour into sink, soil, or drainage systems.

Containers must be triple-rinsed and decontaminated before disposal.
